Yesterday marks the 4 month anniversary of our hCG journey. We began loading for our “Round 1” on June 15, 2012. Only 16 weeks ago, but so much has changed!
First, here is our latest “Before/After” mash-up. That [horrifying] “before” pic was taken at the beach in California during a family vacation. We didn’t know this photo was being taken (thankfully, or it would have been deleted immediately and we wouldn’t have such a “great” before shot!). The image was actually 6 weeks before we heard about the hCG and started our first round. So, the “after” photo represents only 16 weeks of hCG diet transformation.
UtahMan has basically reached his goal. He could lose about 10-15 more and might do a half-round with me. I still have 20 more to go to get to my goal, but I’m happy to be able to maintain at this current weight and size for awhile. The tentative goal is to do a short (21-day) round between Thanksgiving and Christmas (loading on Thanksgiving day). But, it might happen in January. We shall see.
We officially ended “Round 2” last week. In celebration, we took a little weekend get-away on Friday & Saturday back to Cedar City to see two of the Fall season shows of the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Although we go down to the festival every summer, this was our first time to try the Fall season out, and we had the most marvelous time!! We think this should definitely become a new tradition. This past summer we saw 4 great Shakespeare Shows and stayed POP on Phase 2 [blogged here & here & here]. This time around we saw the stunning two-man show “Stones In His Pockets“, and a very unique interpretation of “Hamlet“, [staged in the modern age with actors wearing designer Armani suits and gowns with dramatic scene changes & transitions set to excerpts of the Inception Movie Soundtrack! – very cool] (Both of these shows were of the highest level of quality and blew us away.
Another awesome part of our trip was getting to stay in the Abbey Inn “Executive Suite” [aka Honeymoon Suite]. This has definitely got to be the most romantic room in Cedar City, and definitely one of the nicest we’ve ever stayed in for such a reasonable price. Vaulted ceilings, huge bed, heart-shaped jacuzzi tub for 2 [:)], kitchenette, beautiful furnishings…and an elegant electric fireplace (perfect for a chilly night)! If you are ever in the Cedar City Utah neighborhood, we highly recommend staying here! Oh, btw, they also have a huge swimming pool, a couple of decent exercise machines, serve a free full hot breakfast every morning, and give you free wi-fi. Sweet!
As for our current maintenance, considering that we winged it during the weekend and found fairly P3-friendly meals, we are doing great. We only went up about 1 lb. respectively. Wife is doing an “Egg Day” – [P3 correction day] – to get back down to my LDW, and UtahMan has maintained within the 2 lb window perfectly. We are enjoying the “new us”! 🙂
P.S. Sunday was a fun day for Wife! She was fitted for all new Choir costumes. The 7 original dresses were either size 14 or 16. The new dresses are now sizes 8 and 10. Woot! *High Five*
