It was another record-breaking scorcher today, with temperatures soaring above 100 F and sadly our poor air quality continues due to some really nasty wildfires raging in the southeastern areas of Utah which have forced mass evacuations. Our hearts and prayers go out to those who are effected, and to all of the tireless and brave firefighters.Sunday’s are always busy days for us, filled with church responsibilities and visits with extended family. So, all of our Saturday prep yesterday really paid off to making this day as smooth as possible staying POP (Perfectly on Plan).

Wife was especially frustrated this morning to see the scale stuck on those same numbers for the 3rd morning in a row. She decided to try Dr. Simeon’s prescription for a “Plateau” during Phase 2 by doing an “Apple Day”. This consists of taking the HCG as regularly prescribed, and eating 6 large apples during the day with a little water as needed (nothing else). Technically, according to the plan protocol one is supposed to wait 4 days of a stall before doing an apple day, but Wife thinks that’s a ridiculous waste of precious time, so she decided to take matters into her own hands and just do it. Besides, it may or may not work to jump-start the body. Dr. Simeons himself mentions that an apple day is mainly a purely “psychological” experiment. But at least it lets a frustrated dieter feel like they are doing something. So, we shall see tomorrow what happens on the scale.
Note From Wife: I thought that eating only 6 apples in a day would be easy and I would also end up getting very hungry. Surprizingly, I actually had a hard time eating all those apples. I felt pretty full by the time I’d eaten 3. Of course, I spread them out over the course of the day and I alternated between eating the apple raw, and eating the apple as a baked treat – Oh, BTW, I LOVE this!
Easy Baked Apple Recipe:
1 apple sliced thin, placed in shallow dish with approx. 1 TB. of water
Sprinkle cinnamon & Stevia on top
Cover. Microwave for about 2 1/2 minutes. – (Be careful, the apples will be very hot. Let sit a minute or two.) YUM!!!
Wishing you a happy and blessed Sunday, Hallelujah! – UM&W
